'La La La: Variations On a Happy Song'
is a suite
consisting of nine thematically connected
parts. Though the title may be a good
descriptive starting point, it should be
stressed that it's not all happy-happy,
joy-joy. Throughout its 57 minutes, there are
heady conflicts and quirky twists and turns;
contrasts of light and dark, quiet and bombast,
melancholy and elation. An epic journey for the
creative spirit.
